Quick explainer video:

How can you utilize groups on Compass?

By creating groups on Compass, you can replace the long email chains sent to your sales reps throughout the organization. A few benefits of creating groups within Compass include:

  • Admins can communicate changes in the IC plan structures or calculation logic to specific groups, ensuring clarity and alignment.

  • It helps reduce disputes by running short surveys personalized to each group and gathering feedback about the IC plan structures.

Admins can build groups based on any parameter available in the user data, such as forming a group of people belonging to the same department, designation, geography, IC structure, territory, etc.

The users will be able to acknowledge the post in the form of likes and high-fives and comment their views about the posts.

Townhall

You can access the group by clicking the "Groups" tab on the left panel. Every admin account has a default system-generated group called Townhall, with all the end users added to the Users on Compass.

Creating and managing a Group

To create a new group on Compass, click the + Add New Group button on the top right under the My Groups tab.

(Please note that this option is only available to admins)

This will open a pop-up asking you to fill in the group details, including the display picture, name, description, and membership restrictions.

Add members

You can manually add more members to the group by clicking on the blue +add people icon beside the three dots on the group card.

Edit Group Details

You can edit the existing group details, including name, permissions, or its members.

Member Permissions

This option allows you as an admin to control the various actions that can be taken by the end user in the group on two levels - Access and Nature of Conversations, as shown in the screenshot below.

The screenshots below showcase all the options available to restrict or enable permissions for various types of end users, including admins, members, and non-members.

Content Settings

You can automate messages to highlight employees celebrating special occasions, including birthdays, work anniversaries, leaderboard winners, etc.

Deleting a group

To delete a group, follow these steps

  • Remove all the members of the group.

  • Leave the group as the admin.

  • This will then auto-delete the group.
